Re: Gold Creek in 1870

Well if you're reading up on those books, I'd appreciate it if you
would keep an eye out for some of my lines:
Mainly CAMPBELL, but variants such as STUART are a possibility.
I was intrigued by the FINLAY connection - since my
brick wall ancestor was raised in New Jersey by a FINLEY / FINLAY
and that line and the CAMPBELL's seemed to have "hung out with"
Daniel BOONE in VA and TN and part of those areas.

I know a branch from my CAMPBELL line wound up back in MT and WY,
and one became a big rancher out there, the other was involved in mining.

But, I agree, that Bibliography looks like a good long list of winter reading!
You will probably find some of the older ones online at Google Books.
I find all kinds of interesting things to read at Google Books - and find
them interesting even when they aren't necessarily from my lines.

(Keeps me distracted from my "brick wall" ancestor:
Charles Muir CAMPBELL, b 1795 in Scotland, with an uncle, James CAMPBELL.
Came to the USA by way of Jamaica, West Indies (or possibly elsewhere
in the West Indies, or possibly even South America.)

We had some other lines that tied into our CAMPBELL line -
those included: CORR, FLEXMAN, BYARD, WALLENIUS, and CHAMBERS.

Enjoy your reading!
Greg
